Interview by Ty Schwamberger

Assistant Vice President, Member Solutions

In my last Blog I conducted some fun interviews of our current Member Solutions Associates. Well, the time has come to grow the department to better assist our members. Below is a brief interview with our new member of the team so you can learn more about her. Hope you enjoy!

MELISSA

Ty: Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to answer a few questions. Let’s start out with an easy one. Was there anything specific about Buckeye that made you initially apply for a position here?

Melissa: I saw that this was a new business that was opening in my area, and I did some research it and I saw it was a company I could grow into a career with.

Ty: What were you doing prior to joining the Buckeye family?

Melissa: I was working for a company also in collections, but there was no growing room there. I enjoyed the people I came across.

Ty: We talk quite often at Buckeye about being empathic to a member’s situation. Why do you feel that is important?

Melissa: Being empathic is the best way to show our members that we really do care. It builds a relationship between us and the member.

Ty: Why is helping our members important to you?

Melissa: Because I’ve been in their shoes before and having someone help me out during hard times showed that someone people really do care.

Ty: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Melissa: I spend my free times with my family.

Ty: Ok, last one. What’s your favorite color?

Melissa: Yellow.

A huge thank you once again to Melissa for taking the time to answer my questions. I think our members will enjoy learning about the person behind the voice they will shortly start hearing on phone and then hopefully feel more at ease to reach out to you if they’re ever going through some sort of financial hardship. ~Ty

We understand things happen in life, whether it’s an unexpected expense, a change in job status or any other major life event, that can put a strain on one’s finances. However, if you don’t let us know there has been a change in circumstance, then let your account go past due, it becomes more difficult to help you.
