Let me explain.
You see, prior to joining Buckeye I had worked at a few different companies. As with any company one works for, each had their good and not so-good-qualities. I thought that was just the way it had to be. Stuck in the middle.
Until I found Buckeye. Or Buckeye found me. Well, that’s a story for another day.
On my first day back in 2018 I knew almost immediately that Buckeye was different. Some people may look at that word (different) and think there’s a negative connotation attached to it. Not in this case. Not. One. Bit. I said to myself, “Wow, this place actually cares.” And I feel that exact same way to this very day.
Day in and day out I see those that work at Buckeye and am blown away by their dedication and compassion, not only for each other, but more importantly for our members. Seriously. This isn’t just fluff. I wasn’t told to write this. It is coming from the heart. At Buckeye we don’t consider what we do as work because…
WE. TRULY. CARE.
Read that again. Now again.
Now THAT is the way it is.
You might have seen on social media or heard when stopping into a Branch the word – family.

Through good times and in bad. Together. As a family. Our members, our co-workers, we are all in this together.
A few months ago my wife and I took our son’s on our first family vacation. We had a wonderful time. But Buckeye was always there in the back of my mind.
Believe me when I say that the smiling faces you see when stepping into a Branch or the pleasant voice you hear when speaking to Buckeye on the phone are genuine. They’re not phony. We enjoy what we do here because of each other and our members. It’s the culture. It’s real.
